Mahaveer Award Presented to Sadhguru Jagi Vasudev


The presentation took place at a packed Conway Hall, Lion Sq. Holborn. The inscription on the award read:

Guruji your razor sharp intellect and superb command of English language has brought the ancient wisdom of India to the people of the world. Your concern for mother Earth and vegetarian lifestyle will inspire millions of people. We salute you.

The picture shows me saying a few words before presenting the award. I said that Lord Mahaveer the 24th teacher in Jain tradition preached non-violence and compassion towards all living beings. He was one of the first environmentalist and ecologist and said that the planet Earth should not be plundered. Meat eating is one of main causes of climate change and the destruction of our planet. Guruji Jagi Vasudev will by his example inspire millions to give up meat eating.
